Summary

Common names containing s/o or something like A'isya are not accepted.

Perhaps this could be included in the future enhancements.

Reasoning for Severity

This is not entirely a cosmetics issue, as some user's occasionally may need to add the proper names of people into Vbook.

The 'Original' Bug

Name is too restrictive

Screenshot 2024-11-15 at 4.14.52 PM.pngScreenshot 2024-11-15 at 4.14.52 PM

Description

Name only allows for alphanumeric characters and spaces but if my name has s/o in it as do some of our Malay friends, it may cause inconveniences for the user. I would consider this a low severity flaw but it could possibly be a medium level flaw

Their Response to the 'Original' Bug

[This is the team's response to the above 'original' bug]

Thank you for pointing this out!

We will be accepting this error as valid because we overlooked the possibility of special characters being required in the names of individuals. This is particularly relevant for some of our Malay friends and others who may need such functionality to accurately represent their names.

That said, we consider this a low-severity flaw as it causes only a minor inconvenience to a specific group of users, without significantly impacting the overall functionality of the product. We appreciate your understanding and will take this into account for future updates to better accommodate diverse user needs.

Thank you once again for bringing this to our attention!
