Problem with ReplyWithHeader #62

Hello,

My configuration is: OS X 10.9.3 Mail software version is: 7.3

I installed ReplyWithHeader v4.4 for use with MAIL. The installation went well and I have access preferences MAIL at the interface of RWH. But can not be used in reality MAIL. When RWH is installed in MAIL, I am unable to reply to a message, reply all to a message, forward a message. Nothing happens, I do not even get an error message.

So I tried several settings in the preferences of RWH and I observed that blocking occurs when the "Outlook Mail order" button and "Outlook Mail label" were selected.

I then uninstalled v4.4 ReplyWithHeader to reinstall the v4.5 release. And then the same problem. So I turn around.

Could you help me solve this problem?

Can you please have a look in the Console.app? to see any error message about Mail or RWH plugin.

I have replied for your email. however it is not delivered. I got a failure notification from server.

Anyway we can continue our troubleshooting in this thread?

Little extra clarification on the issue. When I close MAIL and then restarted, I find in the "draft" email attempting to reply that did not work folder.

Can I give a debugger enabled version of plugin, so we can figure out what's going on in ur machine?

Yes if you want, but it will explain commits install and then uninstall. And could you explain how the debugger works. What information will he pass?

  3. Open Console.app and enter 'Mail' in the right corner
  4. Open up Mail.app
  5. Watch out for console.app with prefix of "Mail: ..............."
  6. Perform reply/forward/new message in Mail.app
  7. Share those log which has "Mail: ............."

Curiously, when I made reply that a new message is open, but no header will appear. But now it is impossible to close the message reply (even by command + w or by clicking on the red button).

I have to force MAIL to leave with the combination: control + alt + esc, because the reply message does not close at all.

Just a question, is it happening for every email message or is it for particular email message?

I could not test if it was happening for a single message or multiple, because the message "reply" blocking all attempts fermerture and responses to other messages.

I have to reboot MAIL, and now again this "reply" no longer works and departure. I try to respond to several messages and nothing happens.

Sam, I have tested with sample email you have provided. It seems plugin is doing fine. Unable to figure out what's wrong.

How about having screen share of your machine? it might help me to understand the issue. Also I have added few log statements for improved debugging and checks for locale in this version https://app.box.com/s/490vuuw9ue5ugmmuxuwm

Thank you for your last debugg. I downloaded and installed.

Installation: OK no problem. Using MAIL with the latest debugg:

1 / Click on Reply or Reply all or Forward> OK, no more blocking.

But the headers are not good, this is what I get: Date posted: June 3, 2014 0:55:17 UTC +2

2 / Click on New Message or Redirect> OK, no more blocking.

Here no header will appear, which is normal for "new message". But not for Redirect, it seems.

I verified in the preferences of RWH. And "Outlook Mail order" and "Outlook Mail label" buttons are well checked yet.

We have already taken a step forward to unlocking the problem for the use of RWH. But unfortunately RWH is useless if the headers like Outlook do not work for _fr locale_...

Do you have any last idea to help resolve this?

@Sam26 Good to hear the progress of it. I'm putting my understanding below.

  1. You have provided sample email, that works fine. I have verified using Mail.app application in _fr locale_ mode, not complete machine in _fr locale_
  2. Actually I have a guess, where problem might be. For e.g.: if email message has header then it will process successfully. So if email message doesn't have proper header internally while receiving, it may not be processed

We can do screen sharing from you machine tomorrow, you can show the issues live to me along with Console.app log information. It will help me to figure out.

Once you're ready, we can do live screen sharing.

Hello,

As there is much of a problem with the Mail software for use close to the Outlook software, even outside of RWH. So I quit the Mail software to return to the Outlook 2011 software Mac version. Because I have no time to lose with rélgalges deu Mail software. Sorry.
