0.17.5 not transcoding #3994

Describe the bug

With the same server, 0.17.5 is not requesting transcoding to the server (server has both CPU and GPU usage very low), and as a result, the original 1440P AVC codec is received and soft-decoded, which is laggy.

Downgrade to 0.17.4 solves the issue.

(I will post more log tomorrow for debugging)

Is the original file being watched AVC with 10-bit or 8-bit colour depth? Also please look into this androidtv box to determine if it supports decoding of both 10-bit and 8-bit AVC, or at least provide the model in your bug report.

1:6.0.1p8-1 is not a Jellyfin version. Make sure to use at least Jellyfin 10.9.10
