this is my first experience of unconf and hackathon, so I don't mind about semantics. What was the def of hackathon for comparison?

Nick J Tierney introduced me to the idea that there is a delineation between unconference and hackathon. He delineated the semantics thus, if I recall correctly: an unconf is explicitly non-compmetitve and each group works on a different problem in open science and there is essentially democracy of merit apportioned. Thus, I posit our session to develop at walkthrough with meritget is an unconference session. @jenrichmond https://github.com/jenrichmond holler if you have any objections.
- make language consistent with: unconference, walkthrough, and meritget.
- consolidate or restructure the paragraphs into the minimal information required for the participants of the workshop
- create supporting documents and link
- link supporting documents on unconf site page
- create issue with what @jenrichmond https://github.com/jenrichmond and I talked about this morning.

I dunno, but as a mathematician, all I need to know is it's not specifically an unconf because hackathons can and do have competitive elements.
got it, sounds good to me
