Do we have regular backups? #25

Really need a daily rolling backup to a dropbox folder (via BackWPUp )

and then a weekly full site backup - maybe the host offers this?

One.com does offer backups using RushFiles. I just tried to activate it but it kept giving me an error of "We are sorry for the inconvenience An error has occurred and the requested function could not be executed. The error is most likely caused by a recent update of the site. Please try again." I'll try again soon.

Sorry. Just realised we might have been both doing this at the same time. BackWPUp is installed and I've set up a daily job. I can't work out if it's linked with a new Dropbox account I just made, or if it was already linked to one from before. I'll find out tomorrow.

The BackWPUp plugin isn't currently working, possibly because it can't login to DropBox @anuhenriques Could you forward me one of the emails you've been receiving

Can you send one.com support an email about that? They may just be able to reset something.

For now, just get it backing up on the server at least. J

Email sent. BackWPUp is configured, however it seems backing up the Uploads directory kills the archiving process (Zip, Tar or GZip all fail). Currently everything else is being backed up to DropBox

Response from One.com is to follow their workaround instructions which basically comprises logging into RushFiles and creating a share there.

After much faff I now realise Rushfiles was not for backing up the website (it is a cloud share for backing up PCs/mobiles/devices).

The site backup feature on One.com costs £1.60 per month.

I'd go with getting backwpup working. I've had experience of it working really well.

Will look at this again. As I said, its backing up everything except the Uploads directory. I think it's timing out because the operation takes too long. I feel like I might need to talk to One.com to increase some timeout setting...
