running gpsvp botches keyboard settings (WM6.5.3, HTC Touch Diamond2 "Topaz") #137

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install gpsVP (v0.4.20, PPC version for WM6.0/6.5)
2. Run gpsVP.
3. Try to use the on-screen input keyboard in any app (including gpsVP). Fail.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect that programs do not change the input keyboard selection or options.
But just running gpsVP (v0.4.20, PPC version for WM6.0/6.5) on my HTC Touch
Diamond2 "Topaz" (running dutty's custom WM6.5.3 "Holy Grail R9" version)
changes the keyboard input settings to a letter recognizer, which a) it
shouldn't do - I get to control my keyboard, not some app; and
b) doesn't work at all anyway (no screen touches produce any input).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v0.4.20, for PPC for WM6.0/6.5. On dutty's "Holy Grail R9" version of WM6.5.3.

I have a similar problem on a HP IPAQ 114 with WM 6.1 and latest version of
gpsVP. When I select a keyboard input, then always the letter recognizer is
started.
Futhermore it gives me error messages concerning "device.exe" and asks if I
want to send the reports to Microsoft.

Same problem with Palm Treo Pro running clean WM6.1 and gpsVP v0.4.20.
Sometimes the letter recognizer stays on the screen even after quitting all
apps and only sensible thing is to do a soft reset.
