add contributing documentation #12

Closes #11.

If you go to the files changed tab, you can leave comments in the file.

In the contributing guide that is added through this pull requests, it states that forking the repository is necessary. As a collaborator on this repository, you don't need to do this, since you can push branches directly to this repository.

Thanks for the example. I predate GitHub by a lot, so I'm used to dealing with branches at the CLI level, but this is much cleaner.
