The scripts build the stock kernel. The Grinch kernel, while mostly the same, has a different set of source code with several patches and quite a few different drivers selected to be built as modules. The scripts in this repository download the stock kernel sources. Here's the article on the the build and install: http://www.jetsonhacks.com/2016/06/20/intel-realsense-camera-installation-nvidia-jetson-tk1/
You will have to build the Grinch kernel and apply the UVC patches in order for librealsense to work properly. You will have to check to see if the UVC patches are compatible with the Grinch source, you may have to modify them accordingly.
I also found this on your forum:
Which supplies the path for the grinch kernel source. After downloading I unpacked the files to /usr/src/linux-image-3.10.40-grinch-21.3.4
I'm still working this out, it's not there yet but I'll come back and edit if/when I find the solution.
-- EDIT --
After getting the source I had to repackage my kernel. Instructions to package your kernel are here. During the repackaging I went through and made sure the local version name was correct and that the UVC module is set to be compiled as a module. After compilation, dpkg
install, and reboot; I'm still running into the same issues. Will post back when I have more info.
Ubuntu 14.04 Jetson TK1 3.10.40-grinch-21.3.4
The issue started when
I checked the folder and sure enough there was no zImage to be found. At that point I tried a
buildKernel.sh
again. This time I ran into a lot of "no such file or directory" issues which did not happen the first time.Anyway, any idea why the
zImage
is not being built? Does this have anything to do with using the grinch kernel?
