Chromecast Receiver app doesn't cast on device (Unable to cast to device)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Make sure you have the Google Cast (Beta) extension installed for Chrome
2. Visit http://chromecasttest.boxofsoap.com/
3. Click on the  "connect" button
4. Select your device from the popup menu

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected result is to see http://chromecasttest.boxofsoap.com/cast on my 
TV. What I see instead is "Unable to cast to device". Here's a screenshot

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Trying to run this in Chrome 44.0.2377.0 (Canary) with the Google Cast (Beta) 
extension

Please provide any additional information below.
Both sender and receiver apps are extremely simple and don't do anything fancy, 
so I don't understand where this is going wrong?

Sender app: http://chromecasttest.boxofsoap.com/
Receiver app: http://chromecasttest.boxofsoap.com/cast

I've opened the log window of the extension and usually I just see errors like 
"Channel error" etc.

This seems to be a development issue, not an issue with the SDK. Please 
continue to investigate further on your Stack Overflow question and if you can 
verify that it is indeed an issue with the SDK, we can consider reopening this 
ticket.

You're spot on, this was a development issue.

After some debugging I found out that the issue was related to the server that 
was serving the receiver app.

Sorry for the confusion.
