Difference Thunderbird & TbSync #662

Hello Can someone please explain me where is the difference between TbSync & Provider for CalDav and the integrated CalDAV / CardDAV function of Thunderbird. With Thunderbird I just enter the address and password and it syncs everything "out of the box" Greetings
