RD has a nice API available @ https://api.real-debrid.com Shouldn't you consider using it for authentication instead of using global variables? It's mainly for security purposes, but also for the fluidity and ease of use. The API Key can be stored in plain text and 0600 chmoded.

I'd love the option to use api key since I'm behind vpn and keep getting a login error.
