Automatic polling has to be activated within config files. You have to set the message type to r1-r9 - depending on the needed poll priority.

How about e.g. /get?5 on a mqtt topic to activate automatic polling?
does not sound like an ebusd issue to me, rather ebusd-configuration patch needed. indeed: https://github.com/john30/ebusd-configuration/blob/cf37c58578857a723a14871a50feb6c5bdd53cd8/ebusd-2.1.x/de/vaillant/08.hmu.csv#L48 reveals it is not set to polling. so issue a PR there
Description
The new 08.csv value hmu BuildingCircuitFlow is not polling/updating.
Actual behavior
Value is only put on mqtt when I issue: ebusctl read -f -V -c hmu BuildingCircuitFlow No automatic polling.
Expected behavior
Value should be polled/updated automatically
