Never mind, figured this out -- for some reason the homebrew install on my MacBook Pro only updated me to 1.2.2, and the auto updates weren't working. I had to manually throw out the app and reinstall via brew from scratch, which brought me to 1.3.3, and now everything works like a charm.
Should Teleport version 1.3.3 work between a dual-display Mac Pro 2012 running Catalina to/from a MacBook Pro 2012 running Mojave?
On the Mac Pro, which is a fresh install of Catalina, I can bring up the configuration panel and my other machine appears as one of the viable machines, and I can drag it to border the dual-display graphic underneath for the host machine...but the moment I release the mouse it snaps back up to available clients. On the MacBook Pro, same thing, except sometimes an outline of itself appears among available clients -- and the MacBook Pro is a legacy machine that once, several OSes ago, ran the Abyssoft version of Teleport. One day it just stopped working.
Weirdly, if I try to connect to the phantom client of the MacBook Pro from the MacBook Pro...it "works" and asks me if it should be a trusted host.
