Ability to use the favicons stored by Firefox #270

Open safetycar opened 2 years ago

Problem Statement

I recently reinstalled the addon and then all the favicons were missing but only in tab stash. They are still there looking at them from the bookmark manager.

Preferred Solution(s)

Use the icons that are stored with bookmarks, visible from the bookmark manager.

Alternative Solution(s)

Visit all tabs again, I guess.

Additional Context

Not sure if relevant, I have active the "Close tab immediately" setting.

Unfortunately, Firefox doesn't support this right now, and that's why Tab Stash has to use its own cache. (It certainly would have made my life much easier if they had! Tab Stash's cache took quite a bit of work to implement.)

There is some early work that's being done within Firefox to make this work, but it's not available yet in a stable version of Firefox, and what has been implemented so far isn't a complete solution. So I'm afraid this won't be possible any time soon, but it's definitely something I'm watching.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure about the reasoning behind it. We'll need some patience then.

That's a privacy issue, since it shares information with Google about every tab that's in your stash.
