Initializing a new system #191

Sorry for making an issue for this but there's no other place for questions like this AFAIK.

I'm wondering what the right approach is to setup jotta-cli on a new system if one doesn't want to wait for days to download everything but instead bring the data over from another machine. Just:

  1. tar ~/Jottacloud/ on machine A
  2. untar on machine B
  3. setup sync and point in to the untarred directory on machine B
  4. start sync?

Does anyone have actual experience doing this?

That should work as you expect it to.

jottad will have to checksum every file in that tree, and that takes some time, but after that it should be up to date.
