Banshee crashes when running Mirage #40

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download and install banshee and mirage plugin
2. After importing library (approx 70k songs) run Mirage
3.

What actually happens when you follow these steps?
The library imports fine however when I execute Mirage it runs for a number
of songs but then it just shuts down Banshee altogether. I've attached a
file showing the output in terminal window

What would you expect to happen when you follow them?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Banshee 1.4.3
Mirage Version 0.5.0
Ubuntu 8.10

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm new to Linux, so maybe there is something I'm missing. But I think I've
all the dependencies installed that is required for this to run. Any
insight into what may be wrong would be great. I really want to get this
plug-in working as it looks like such a great feature

Thanks

Thank you for your bug report.

Does it always crash on the same file, ie "09. sonic youth - the ineffable
me.ape" ?
Are you able to play this file with banshee and with another player, like totem
?

All those GStreamer-CRITICAL messages in your log are not normal. There might
be a
problem with the GStreamer installation on your system. Are you using the
gstreamer
packages provided by your distro, and are they up-to-date ?

Don't know if this is the same crash, but I had a crash too. Here is the log.

stevenwagner,
The log seems to show that the crash happened while GStreamer was decoding a
file,
probably "David Bowie-07 Star".
Are you able to play this file with Banshee or another player, like totem ?

Exactly the same issue:
I downloaded and installed banshee and mirage plugin. After importing large
library
and running Mirage, it runs for a number of songs but then Banshee stops song
playback and if I try to press anything, it just shuts down. However, Mirage
continues to index songs.

So what I did is, I ran Mirage without using Banshee for media playback and so
far it
hasn't crashed.

I am using:
Banshee 1.5.3
Mirage Version 0.5.0
Linux Mint 8 Helena (it's based on Ubuntu 9.10)
