Can't get Gmail Notifications #36

Open Devid- opened 11 years ago

Sidebar and Taskbar Gmail Notifications in Enigma are not notifying me about new email. I have Rainmeter 2.5 but it also did not work in Rainmeter 2.4 . Even after restarting the application i have the same problem. But i think it has something to do with Google cause when i give this in my browser https://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom i can't log in, even if my username and password is correct.

My Sidebar Gmail: Loading ..Waiting for data from Webstarter My Taskbar Gmail App :Does not inform me about new email from Gmail.

Is there a workaround ? Thank you.

Same problem, but I'm assuming its because I use characters like "@#$" in my password. I know the recommendation is to change my password to something with only characters and numbers, but thats really not viable as I keep things secure and won't lower it to work around the limits of this gui. Perhaps as a solution I could put my password in a text file, allow Enigma to read it, encrypt it, and store it internally to Enigma, then tell me its ok to delete the file.

You probably have two-step verification enabled, and Rainmeter is unable to handle it... but don't worry, Google has already created a workaround. Go to your "two-step verification" settings in your Account Security options, and from there, click "Manage Application Passwords". I think you can figure out the rest, if not, read Google's instructions.

@Razer1103 yes actually that might be the problem because i have enabled 2-step verification in Google.

Same here, says it is invalid feed. Also, the following day, other Rainmeter skins can't check gmail. For example Omnimo WP7 worked for 4 days after the Enigma skin failed, then it failed too.

The weird thing is that it is only happening on my windows 8 PC, three windows 7 pc's are working fine. I went to my Google account security and created an application specific password and put it into Omnimo, but that didn't fix the problem. All of the machines are authorized under the two step authorization. I turned UAC off too So far, no luck. Guess I have to go back to using my windows 7 machines.

I know why is that! It is because you use symbols in you password !?*$#"!........ Just change your password to whatever just without the symbols. DONE! (i hope so.)

See pull request #108 for a solution to this problem.
