Could you offer regular versioned tarball releases here on GitHub?

Poking @kamhix to not forget to add versioned tarballs here on GitHub. I am planning to suggest your application for inclusion in a popular Linux-based distribution but as one of the main developers stated for another programme: "As they do not provide a static download URL (their download URLs are randomized Amazon AWS ones), this can't be included." I'd be very happy if you can address this issue.

Tagging releases would also allow to make the changelog directly visible in your GitHub releases. This would increase transparency for potential users and distribution maintainers. Something like https://skywinder.github.io/github-changelog-generator/ could be used to generate the changelog based on merged PRs and closed issues since the last release tag.
