Updated: despite ticking a couple of items off recently, there's still a long way to go.

Several more items ticked off. #2, #6 and #13 are mostly done, while so many other details are missing from this tracker making it not very useful.

Most significantly there is not yet any attempt at supporting internationalisation, systems without modern graphics acceleration, and still large API changes are expected before 1.0. I guess we close when these things are done.
