Repeating Console log messages when in repo #309

When in a repo the console log repeats the same vague lines periodically. These make it difficult to debug issues in the code or to understand what is going on.

To reproduce this issue: open a repo and look at the console log for a few seconds

The log messages could be disabled or made more meaningful

Similar to #188, maybe this could be considered a duplicate?

The issues are similar but I guess this specifically refers to these logs. These logs don't really add anything to a devs understanding of what's going on unless that dev is the one who wrote them. Perhaps a new issue could be to remove all 'meaningless' logs or at least make them say something more meaningful?
