In the lab stage for bootstrapping the control plane nodes, the step to get the default region and public address fails due to the metadata server not having the default region attribute.

In the initial setup stage, ensure that the default region is set in the metadata server for the project in addition to the local shell

I have to do the same at the bootstrapping lab, so this step would be helpful.
