I have the same issue, both on my mac and remote ubuntu.

• OSX Monterey 12.5

• zsh with oh-my-zsh

  

• Ubuntu 20.04

I just found that disable iterm2_shell_integration.bash plugin fix the issue on remote ubuntu.

I also have the same issue on my mac, I used item2

I don't know now because I only use iterm2 on Mac and VSCode on Windows now :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
