JLibs project compilation fails when metainf-services is upgraded from 1.1 to 1.6 #12

recently i tried to upgrade from 1.1 to i.5 in my project https://github.com/santhosh-tekuri/jlibs

to reproduce change version in https://github.com/santhosh-tekuri/jlibs/blob/master/pom.xml#L75 and do mvn. it fails in compilation and no error is reported;

on running with "mvn -X" i got following stacktrace:

it looks like compilter mojo failed
