in your unifi protect setup. you have to have motion detection enabled. the homekit plugin does not use the object detection from unifi. it only uses motion events and then processes object detection itself on the homekit hub.
read the plugin readme in any case, there's a troubleshooting section.
In the docs, there are references to maximum bitrates and resolutions. The G4 cameras are 4k cameras and I have 4 of them. Although my video works great in Homekit for viewing, I have never once gotten a recording or person alert from Homekit.
I followed the HKSV Unifi directions to a tee and have all the correct and latest plugins installed, each camera is its own accessory, etc. In Unifi NVR I am recording 24/7 (not just motion) but I do have object detection turned on for all object types.
Any suggestions?
