DTS passthrough audio drops frequently #89

Hi, I'm experiencing audio drops when playing DTS content using hdmi passthrough. This seem to happen about every 4-5 seconds, when sound just drops for half a second or so.

I'm running SPMC on a Mi Box 3 which has Amlogic S905-H

Editing /sys/class/audiodsp/digital_codec seems to fix this issue. though not permanently Source: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=235305&pid=2347696#pid2347696 Maybe this is of any help

I have the same problem with my OTT QBox (Amlogic S905) DTS passthrough causes audio-drops every 5-6 seconds I installed OpenELEC on this system on an external SD and booted into it through an uboot modification and in OpenElec this problem is not present (Version 7 Beta)

The problem exists in KODI 16.1 and SPMC 16.3 both.

I have the same problem with a Beelink MiniMXIII (Android 5.1.1 - Amlogic S905) box while using SPDIF pass-through on SPMC 16.3.

@edster69 Also have a MiniMXIII now running Minix Neo U1 firmware. Can confirm everything working perfectly including HD audio passthrough.

Thanks. Is there any way to get this to boot from a microSD card? I'm a bit apprehensive about flashing the NAND. Any idea why passthrough works on this ROM works, but not on the stock firmware?

ghost commented 7 years ago

@edster69 No. But you can boot OpenElec from microsd.

I've tried Alex's Openelec build using a microSD card, and I'm following LibreELEC, but they both seem to have similar problems at the moment with stuttering HEVC files. SPMC seems much more stable, and its only limitation is the bug we're discussing! :¬)
