HomePod Commands Don't Work #144

Open JerryGarciaDeadhead opened 1 year ago

JerryGarciaDeadhead commented 1 year ago

Since upgrading my HomePods to v17, I have been unable to send HK commands to Wiz devices with them... but iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Watch all work as before. Restarting and/or resetting the HomePods doesn't do anything. All my other HomeKit/HomeBridge devices work fine.

Anybody else seen this problem?

I also see this. “Turn off bedroom light” with this plugin works fine with Siri on the iPhone, but the exact same command doesn’t work with any HomePod in the house. Siri says “Got it” and does nothing with the light.

I have a HomePod mini running 17.2, and it's not all commands that don't work for me. The HomePod will accept and execute spoken commands to dim, brighten, and set a color for WiZ lights. It's only on/off commands (and, curiously, "Dim to 0%") that it blithely responds to in the affirmative without actually changing the light's power state.

Edit: my AppleTV 4K (gen 2) running a 17.3 beta has no problem turning WiZ lights on and off via Siri commands. I've updated the HomePod mini to 17.3 (21K5625e), but it continues to say "OK" when instructed to turn lights on and off while completely failing to do so.

This sounds like it might be a homekit bug?

I upgraded the WiZ bulbs to Matter and this problem no longer exists.

I didn't upgrade my bulbs to Matter, but at some point this issue resolved itself for me. The HomePod mini (still running 17.3!) now successfully turns homebridge-wiz-lan bulbs on and off. Wish I knew what happened and why, but for the nonce, at least, all is well.

I am having the same issue. Tried turn off scenes and rebooting the homepod but no success.
