[feature] option to change hvac mode? #233

Is there a way to turn on heating even when the temperature is higher or equal to the thermostat temperature?

I have a switch on my floor heating pump of my downstairs, and my thermostat is downstairs.

Since we dont have a thermostat on our second floor there is no way to let the Nefit produce any heat for the second without heating the first floor.

So i want to make a "digital" thermostat that automates turning on or off my floor heating and the hvac mode of Nefit of so my second floor gets heat, and switch it back off when my second floor has reached a certain temprature.

I know that there is a big chance this isn't supported, but i just wanted to make sure 🙂

I don’t know about such a switch. Also note that the Nefit thermostat doesn’t switch the heater just on/off, it also determines a setpoint for the water temperature.

I did circumvent this in the past by just setting the target temperature of the Nefit to 26-28 Degrees. This would set it in an always on mode, assuming you have additional thermostats in the room where the Nefit thermostat is to prevent it from actually becoming 26-28 Degrees (but this is anyhow needed when you force on heat)

Alright, yeah i have thought of that but i was just thinking it could be possible a different way since by doing that the thermostat downstairs will be unusable until the second floor is warmed up, but i guess i just need to do it like that.

Thanks 👍

The thermostat downstairs is not only unusable, it’s going to get super hot downstairs. If you want to control heat of the heater yourself, you need an additional thermostat downstairs that limits or blocks the flow.

We dont have any radiators downstairs, only floor heating. So by turning off my floor heating i specifically turn off heating for my first floor with just one thermostat.

That will do the trick
