ALL: discharge problem in games (in standby mode) #149

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
So far Sudoku is known to drain battery in standby.
Not sure if other games do not have this problem, or are simply less popular.

I've used Sudoku a couple of times (with PRS-650), exited it via home-button or
by tapping the game-symbole top left, and never noticed any change in
battery-level.

If using HOME-Button, of course making sure to have no menu-open, before
pressing HOME
(See Issue #134)

Is the title so to read, that the device have to enter standby while in the
game?

Some users do enter standby while in game, to my knowledge.

Could this be because the menus are somehow "active" during standby? It could
be handled by telling people not to go into standby while using Sudoku (and
presumably the same will be true for MineSweeper). After all, Sudoku has a
save-game feature. People can save their game, exit Sudoku, and then go into
standby.

Sincerely,
Ben.

I think original code by obelix didn't use Kinoma's menu and didn't have power
drain issue.

You are of course right.
Sudoku for 500/505 is using some sprites to simulate a menu, which is still
used for 300/505 with current code.

I don't see an easy way to use obelix approach with the touch-interface.

But if still the fsk-menu is suspected to cause the trouble, I think I can do a
quick and momentary ugly version, using buttons instead of menu.

Eventually enhancing the MineSweepter menu-simulation code (for 300/505) to be
used without fsk-menu also for 600/x50

Actually it's not a verified fact, that old obelix' version did not have
that problem.
