DCC Voice chat under Windows #237

Reported by Taoki on 12 Sep 2008 16:05:45 UTC After I checked and spoke with someone on the #KVIrc channel, I found out there is no DCC Voice chat support for the Windows version of KVIrc (tested under Win. XP Media Center SP3 here).

Even if Voice is not one of the main features used in the IRC system, I think it's really bad there is absolutely no support for it in the Windows version. Please, can someone add the implementation to make it work just like all other features?

Issue: When I try to start a DCC Voice chat with a nickname, I get this message in the chat area:

[19:01:53] [KVS] Warning: DCC VOICE support not enabled at compilation time [19:01:53] [KVS] in script context "click callback for dcc.subpopup12.item0", line 1, near character 1

Comment by ctrlaltca on 17 Sep 2008 20:38:26 this is not supposed to take its place in a stable release as 3.4. Let's move this target to 4.0, where the multimedia framework is being reworked hardly to support phonon.

I know these are stable releases but a stable enough DCC voice system could probably be made too (even if it may have bugs it would be worth it). If it's really not possible though we'll just wait for 4.0, though a 3.4 version would be really nice if anyone could do one.
