Aw, I grabbed some contents, but cannot save it to google docs (stop on redirecting...) #13

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago

What were you trying to grab?
(please specify the webpage you were visiting and the portion you wanted to
capture in as much detail as possible. Add a link to a screenshot if you
have it).

text block from bash.org.ru

What went wrong? How Snippy failed to capture what you wanted?
(example: formatting errors, grabbed a different area, missing parts,
altered style...)

I press authorize in "Please authorize Snippy to access your Google Docs
first." And export to google docs was stopped on "redirecting..."

On what operating system?

Linux

Which version of the Snippy chrome extension are you using?
(to find which version you have installed, open the Extension menu in
Chrome, as explained here:
http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?answer=167997 )

Snippy - Version: 0.3.0

I am using Snippy 0.30 on Chromium 6.0.450.0 (50920) Ubuntu 10.04, and I have
the same issue when trying to authorize Snippy - it tries to redirect but gives
this error: Error 311 (net::ERR_UNSAFE_REDIRECT): Unknown error.

I was able to reproduce it using Chromium 6.0.453.0 (build 51253).

However, I wasn't able to reproduce it for Google Chrome, both unstable channel
(6.0.437.3 dev) and beta ones (5.0.375.86-r49890). I used Linux in all cases.

Can any of you please confirm the above?

Chromium 6: known not to work
Chrome 5, 6: should work (at least up 6.0.437.3 dev).

snippy worked on my system on 2010-06-25, and these days only 2 things change:
1. chrome update (6.0.*.* dev -> 6.0.447 Dev, i can not remember the old one)
2. add:--new-wrench-menu -enable-sync-extensions
-sync-url=http://clients4.google.com/chrome-sync/dev

Hope it will help you. Looking forward to update on this.
BTW,it is still be available to upload to snipbin.

I'm using Chrome:6.0.447.0 Dev

I cannot upload any 'snipped' pictures to Google Docs. Only the url and text
appear in the uploaded Web Snippet.

I revoked access to Docs (to retry it). Now I get the same "grant access" error
as lztao82.

For some reason I'm stuck at 6.0.437.3 dev. Not sure whether the version
difference is the reason why I can't reproduce the bug on chrome but only on
chromium. I'll work around it and update as soon as I find something.

@cc01100010 : yes, the picture upload problem is known (albeit different from
the access problem described here), see issue 22.

It definitely looks like I have to find some spare time to address these...
sorry folks you're unable to enjoy the extension at the moment.

I too am getting this error. Windows 7, Chrome 7.0.517.41 additionally,
although I have synched my chrome to two different computers my Snippy does not
synch between them. e.g. I have 10 previously captured snippets showing on 1
computer and none on the other.

I have the same problem with Win Xp SP3.

Considering that the problem was reported in March, it seems that it is not
solvable.

Elsewhere I saw a workaround for this: if you manually go to the URL in the
error message the authorization works.

redirection to error page after clicking 'Authorize' button on google docs page

However, upload to gDocs from the original tab is enabled afterwards.. seems to
be a cosmetic issue?

The snippets do not upload to google docs and this error message keeps
appearing after I click the Google Docs button.

"Upload failed (401 - Authorization required). Please retry in a few seconds."

How do you resolve this error and upload it to google docs then?
