Dear Rene, thanks for giving notice of this bug. However, can you maybe provide some additional information such that I am able to reproduce it? Which units exactly start out in um and switch to mm? Some units you configure when setting up a microplate measurement? If so, where in the configuration do you enter them (maybe some screenshots might help). Also, what do you mean with "run the method"? Starting the measurement? Do the units then immediately switch or afterwards, e.g. when running the measurement again? I also don't understand completely how restarting YouScope would help here (from the programmer perspective, reloading a saved measurement is the same as initializing it for the first time). Some screenshots would really help. FYI: YouScope internally assumes that all stages measure distances in um. Some don't, but it is the first time that I hear that a stage sometimes measures in um and sometimes in mm (you said that restarting YouScope somehow helps). Maybe you can check in the device settings if the unit of measurement might be configurable for your stage (and some function might then change this configuration; in this case, the default configuration would be restored at startup, explaining why your workaround works (but there are easier ways to do so)). In case your stage really measures always in mm (then, however, no restarting should help), you can tell YouScope this under File->Edit Microscope Configuration->Stage-Coordinates->Text-box at the bottom right. However, it rather sounds like some other problem. Sorry that I cannot help immedeately, but I need more information to better understand the problem. Best, Moritz
Dear Moritz,
sorry for my slow reply. I've had some time I couldn't work either on the instrument or not on site. as soon as I have access again, I will collect the information you need.
Best,

Dear Moritz, I've been trying hard to reproduce the error i described to you, without a result. Probably I've changed some automatism in the way I'm doing things, but I can't go back to make it happen again.
The next time I encounter this problem, I will make a record of it an send it to you.
By the way, how can i save a snapshot in Youscope?
Best regards,
Rene Holtackers

Hi Rene, Good to hear that the error disappeared by itself. If it reappears, just send another message. Of what exactly do you want to save a snapshot? If of the whole screen, just use the Windows screenshot function (press Print on keyboard, open Paint, Press Ctrl-V). If you want to save an image in the LiveStream, just Right-Click on the current image and select "Save as". If the snapshot should be of something else, please elaborate. Best, Moritz
Hi Moritz,
I will do that!
Ah, the image saving function is in the right click! I've been looking all over the software for it but it didn't come up in my head to look into the context menu, how stupid of me.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Best,
Rene Holtackers

Dear Moritz, we are running Youscope on an Olympus IX81 with a Marzhauser Corvus Controller. When setting up a new microplate measurement, coordinates start out in micrometer units. When I run the method though, the units have changed to millimeters. Instead of driving a single well distance, the stage is commanded to drive 9 meters... and of course gets stuck.
My workaround is saving the method and restarting the software. This works, but is annoying, as the system is used by students too, who sometimes tend to be forgetful with these issues.
Can you think of a way to solve this bug?
Thanks for your consideration! Rene
