Context

Is your feature request related to a problem?

Inventory management and logistics tracking can be challenging in MineColonies. Currently, there is no straightforward way to assess how much inventory space is used or available in the Warehouse, nor is there a clear method to track the flow of items from the Warehouse to other buildings.

Enhancement or Change description

To improve the inventory management and logistics within MineColonies, I propose the following enhancements:

  1. Inventory Capacity Indicator: Add an indicator to the Warehouse (and possibly other buildings) UI that shows the amount of space used and available (e.g., "3200/5000 slots used"). This would assist in planning expansions and managing storage.

  2. Item Flow Visualization and Courier Task Tracking: Create a feature that allows players to not only track the movement of items from the Warehouse to other buildings but also to view the tasks assigned to each courier. Currently, there is no way to know which courier is responsible for which task. If a courier is unable to complete a task, it can result in a backlog, while other couriers remain idle. Implementing a system where players can see which tasks are assigned to which courier and the duration of each task would help identify and resolve logistical hold-ups, ensuring a smoother distribution of work.

  3. Enhanced Search Functionality: Improve the search functionality in the Warehouse by enabling direct retrieval of items from the UI, not just highlighting the rack where they are stored. This enhancement would simplify Warehouse operations and save players' time.

These proposed changes aim to streamline resource management and optimize the efficiency of logistics within the game, providing a better and more engaging player experience.

Notes or related things

These changes would provide a more user-friendly approach to managing resources within the game, aligning with the player's need for effective town planning and management. Enhancing the visibility of inventory levels and the flow of goods could lead to a smoother and more enjoyable gameplay experience.
