Trip not populating #19

Plugged in 8/11 @ 8pm and no route populated. Rhonda mentioned a lot of errors when she tried to use it, but also refused to be specific with what was going on / couldn't tell me what browser she was using, so I'm not sure there's real feedback in there to troubleshoot.

@oldwestaction, backend is legitimately returning to results for that date and time. I'll investigate.

zane commented 7 years ago

@rafkuhn, will be hard to troubleshoot the other errors without more detail, but we'll keep our 👀 peeled.

rafkuhn commented 7 years ago

lol I know. I was like "...I need more detail - what did you search? What browser?" And she essentially responded "AGHRHHEHSIRJNRJR"

@rafkuhn, this is happening because Google Maps is legitimately returning no results for that date / time. What would the desired behavior in this kind of situation be? I could imagine changing the error message.

rafkuhn commented 7 years ago

The schedule is currently populating through 8/2. This is only A problem if ppl are booking flights for the summer way ahead of time so we should probably think about a workaround for when we add JFK. Maybe this is a 60-day in advance thing?

@rafkuhn Could be! In which case one option would be to change the front-end behavior to disallow dates that far out.

rafkuhn commented 7 years ago

That would be a good solution for now...but lets see if the mta schedule extends tomorrow. It's not quite 60 calendar days (that would be August 6) so I'm a bit confused.
