In-game notes being deleted in mobile app (android) #1764

Describe the bug When playing online games on the mobile app, I'll type notes in the notes section only to have the sentence I've just typed disappear. Sometimes the deleted words will quickly reappear only to disappear again. Often I will have to type the same sentence 3-4 times in order for the note to "stick". I have noticed this when playing correspondence games (casual and ranked) but have not attempted to write notes in other game modes.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. While in a game, click on the bottom left icon to bring up the menu
  2. Select "Notes"
  3. Begin writing notes. At some point, the app will begin deleting sections of text. I have noticed this occurring most reliably when closing the mobile keyboard, but it also happens seemingly at random.

Expected behavior I expect the text I input to remain on the screen, only to be deleted when I hit the backspace key.

I have this problem as well. It feels like some sort of synchronization problem where the client repeatedly fetches the notes from the server while the editor is open, causing edits to frequently be clobbered by whatever the server has before they have time to get posted to the server.
