Iphone Endless Boot #271

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Restore iPhone using iTunes 7.4.2
2. Tried to activate using Independence 1.2.5 (I've activated with an
earlier version o INdependence before)
3. INdependence crashed leaving iPhone frozen, new restore... after that
edless boot.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Apple logo shows up for about 5 seconds then it boots up again and again
and again...

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.2.5, Mac OS X 10.4.11

Please provide any additional information below.
I've tried this http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?p=36028#post36028
but didn't work... I got this error message: "Bus error"

Is my phone bricked? Even though I didn't upgrade or anything like it.. ???

Hey there. I had the exact same thing happen to me and thought I killed the
phone. After a lot of research, I
discovered the trick to fix it.

Hold the power and home keys together for 10 seconds, after it restarts
continue holding the home key but
release the power key. Continue for about another 10 seconds and quickly put
it in the dock. It should come
back to life with the yellow triangle and ask for new firmware. Try minor
variations if that doesn't work.

At this point, I reinstalled 1.1.1 and went through the process again, this
time doing all the breaks and
installations for 1.0.2 and it worked. I'm stuck with 1.0.2 until further
notice but it's working and I'm happy!

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for your help Jim...

I did exactly that yesterday... got the yellow triangle and restored (or
almost...) via iTunes... Now the problem
is that every time I restore, the whole process seems to work but at the very
end, after iphone firmware
restore, when iTunes tells you that the iPhone will reset and show up in the
sources the following error
occurs...

"The iPhone "iPhine" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (6)."

Now the iPhone is always at this yellow triangle state... can do nothing...

The version is 1.0.2, so I'm trying to restore it with 1.0.2... Do you think
that if I restore with 1.1.1 it might
work? Or will I blew it once for all??

Thanks again, Fred.

upgrading to 1.1.1 will fix your problem. the error 6 is ussually related to a
"problem" in verifying the firmware
files, so there still may be some leftover on the iphone that does not match
the verification proccess. If you have
a 1.0.2 and UPDATE to 1.1.1, you will get a new baseband and Firmware. It is
very likely you get fully fixed and
operational
