This is what is keeping me from using Linkwarden, an Android app, is very much needed.
Glad to see this coming
Hey Can I know the status of iOS app for LinkWarden.
Like always: when it's done. Have you already donated to support the developer?
This feature is currently paused, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. However, we have released an installable Progressive Web App (PWA) for an app-like experience, as detailed in our latest release notes.
Additionally, we've developed an iOS shortcut to offer the key functionalities of an original native app, ensuring you have access to its major features.
Is there a reason for pausing the development of the app?
The main reason is a lack of manpower; It's hard to split focus between the mobile app and the web application. Since well-written PWA's can achieve 75% of what a native app can do nowadays, it's much more convenient to stick with a base web app and gradually improve from there.
Ok sure, that makes sense
Will there be a shortcut solution for Android as well with PWA/Website?
@dimatx not yet but totally doable since Android supports that for PWA's right out of the box using the share_target API.
@daniel31x13, I'm an iOS developer( working for a product), and I would love to contribute to your iOS app in my free time
@abilash2574 Thanks! DM me on Discord and we can continue from there for a more synchronous conversation.
😪
Fingers crossed for the android share shortcut! Only thing really keeping me from moving from raindrop, since I bookmark a lot on my phone I want to revisit on my desktop. :)
Hi guys. I'm planning to develop an native iOS client for Linkwarden. It will be created with SwiftUI and the main focus will be speed and having an UI that follows Apple's design language. Maybe I start working on it tomorrow.
I have started working on the application. For now I only have ready the connection to a self hosted server, the dashboard and the web view. Let me know if you want to test it when I have the first beta available.
Hi Juan, thank you for starting a ios app! I would definitely be interested in the beta once it's ready.
Hello @JGeek00, Big thanks for your time! I'm down to try the beta :) Feel free to ping me on Discord if you had any questions.
is it possible to compile for android, too?
I have started working on an Android app for Linkwarden, "creatively" called LinkGuardian.
The app is currently in early alpha, with very basic functionality, but more features will be added soon.
@Elbullazul Thanks! Feel free to DM me on Discord if you had any questions.
The stable release is available on the App Store.

@JGeek00 Hello. I'm testing it in self hosted, and the token access feature says that the token is wrong. But the user/pass way is working.
PS. I didn't find anywhere else to send the bug, there is a public repo?
Hey guys, over the last few weeks I have developed an android app companion for Linkwarden. It allows uploading links via the share context menu and quickly accessing the webui (very similar to what the pwa already does). It's on f-droid as of today. I hope this resolves most of the issues people have using Linkwarden on android.
If you have feedback please let me know in the repository (and leave a star if you like)!
Dear Linkwarden team,
I am an avid user of your bookmark and archive service, and I have found it an invaluable tool in my day to day workflow. However, lately, I have found myself increasingly browsing and exploring content on mobile platforms, particularly when it comes to repositories and videos.
In light of this, I would like to request the feature of an Android app for Linkwarden. This app would ideally integrate with the device's native sharing functions, allowing users like myself to easily capture and bookmark Github links, YouTube videos, and other content to peruse at a later time or on a different device.
I understand that some existing platforms like Wallabag and Omnivore already offer similar mobile applications. I believe that if Linkwarden could provide the same functionality, it would immensely enhance the user experience and make the awesome service that Linkwarden provides even more accessible and convenient.
I am hopeful that this proposed feature aligns with the overall vision and trajectory of the Linkwarden project and that it could potentially be incorporated into the roadmap for future updates.
Thank you for your consideration. I am looking forward to experiencing the continuous evolution and growth of the Linkwarden platform.
Best regards, Chris
