Abstract
Hands on walk through on how to reverse engineer a bluetooth low energy based smart bulb using Free and Open source softwares available such as Android, Wireshark, Linux Bluez utility stack.
About
IoT devices are everywhere, companies are desperate to link their name to growing field of Internet of things by bringing their products to market, and to cut the time to market they ignore security, leaving the end user vulnerable. In this talk I'd be sharing how I managed to reverse engineer Syska Smart LED light bulb and few more off the shelves consumer IoT Devices using commonly available tools.
