[Feature request] Translucent background blur #641

Issue

Can muffin blur the translucent background in select apps? For example in alacritty. I did not find a better place to ask the question, because mutter has long supported blur, and as far as I know, muffin regularly merges with mutter.

I think the blur effect is one of the most anticipated features for cinnamon. It will instantly make the UI more modern. Imagine blur panels.. 🤩

Any movement on this? Looks like Mutter supports this as of 3.36. Like others have said, would be a huge feature for Cinnamon!

This is something that has been requested for many years, by me and many others. Transparent backgrounds are pretty terrible if there's no blur to accompany them. If you have any text or complex hard-line graphics behind text on a transparent background, it will quickly become unreadable. This is really an important thing to have, in my opinion.
