Xreader is slow to open, and to update the view of, certain pdf books #508

 * Xreader version 2.8.3
 * Distribution - Mint 20.1 Cinnamon

Issue Xreader is slow to load and to update the view with certain book files. This does not seem to depend solely on the size of the file, but some other formatting property.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Download The Greek View of Life from the Internet Archive (16.2 MB).
  2. Open it and when open, use the scroll bars to scroll to another page, say, half way through the book.

RESULT: The app. takes a long time to open and update the view.

  1. Now download Organic Gardening (22.6 MB).
  2. Open it in Xreader and again use the scroll bars to navigate through the document.

RESULT: Even though the latter book is considerably larger it opens very quickly.

Expected behaviour

Opening and view refresh times should be considerably shorter for documents of the first type (above) than is currently the case.

I find that Xreader 3.8.2, on Mint 21.2 Cinnamon, on a laptop with the following specifications, rendered pages so slowly - at least on the first opening of the document - that navigating the document was hard.

CPU: Intel i5-3320M (4) @ 3.300GHz GPU: Intel 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller Memory: 3782MiB / 7737MiB Disk [SATA III SSD] (/dev/sda2): 21G / 52G (43%)
