PR to fix tests #55

I've got a PR I want to create to fix a bunch of unit tests that are broken.

Can you grant me permission to push a branch to the repo.

Hi Nigel, thank you very much for your offer to contribute to this repository. The way how GitHub works is that you create a fork of this repo, create a new branch in your own repo and then create a pull request from your fork. Can you please do that?

I had some really old changes still not pushed yet, which I just pushed. I guess it will create lots of merge conflicts with your version.
