Removing &dirtyPlugin & &needsCleaning #245

Closed sibir-ine closed 2 years ago

sibir-ine commented 3 years ago

The &dirtyPlugin Anchor

&dirtyPlugin is a cleaning data anchor that has been superseded by &quickClean & &reqManualFix, & entries using it should be recleaned with the latest non-experimental dev (v4.0.3h (Hotfix 1)) or stable (v4.0.3) build of xEdit.

There are currently hundreds of instances of *dirtyPlugin, so removing it will take some time & the effort of multiple contributors. Many entries using *dirtyPlugin have locations & can easily be downloaded for cleaning.

A lot of progress has already been made towards this issue by @MacSplody in #29, #41, #78, #104, & #128; me in #243; & throughout various other PRs by various contributors.

The &needsCleaning Anchor - Done in 449124b

&needsCleaning, as discussed here, is a message anchor that has been superseded by the dirty key, & entries using it should be recleaned as well.

&needsCleaning has been removed.

Wild Edits Messages

Incidentally, any additional cleaning messages, such as in the 2 examples provided here, should be refactored to use the wildEdits message alias if applicable or removed if outdated.

Contributing

As always, any help would be much appreciated. To avoid overlap, contributors can work on unticked plugins in #435.

Contributors can also simply comment with cleaning data from xEdit if they don't know how or don't want to make a pull request; a team member can add the data to the masterlist for them.

For those entries that don't have locations (the rest have been found in #434) or have dead links, the methods described in loot/skyrim#312 can be used to locate the plugin & add a location, or the entry can be removed if it no longer seems to be publicly available.

This is also a good opportunity to sort the recleaned entries into a section (e.g., ###### Gameplay ######) & to make small formatting changes (e.g., add closing forward slashes to location URLs) for consistency & to tidy up the masterlist a bit.
