This should also be used for later start dates, hence the "History" label.
Suprisingly enough, MEIOU & Taxes for EU4 (Dei Gratia) has started discussing councils and etc : http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?827086-Catholics-in-the-Middle-east. Dei Gratia: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?707942-MOD-Dei-Gratia-a-mod-to-enhance-religion-in-the-age-of-faith-and-reason. This could probably be used for our work.
I'm working on the first event now. I just need to find Theodosius II's character or I'll have to make him.
Since he is an Emperor, he must be in
Why do you need him? The event should have the possibility to fire, whether or not he exists.
Like Erik W said, I think that would be the best thing to do since Theodosius II was the one who convened it and I doubt the priests would have without him. Also, should Priests be playable so people could alter the decisions and, perhaps, thus make a better overall experience to players who want that?
What do you mean by playable priests? Theocracies are unplayable in CK2. However a council is a discussion, so they would interact with them. My point is that another emperor should also have the possibility of convening it, in player hands. Then if another AI convenes it or not can depend on situation and traits.
Ok, yeah that was my thought for the emperor as well. I didn't remember that Priests were Theocracies but it would have been cool to have a player be in the negotiations for it. Since the Emperor was only convening and not actually part of the decision making, I was thinking that maybe the priests could have been playable. So how would the game decide the outcome of the Church councils? Do we just all leave it to AI chance, or do you have other plans?
In case the player plays the emperor, he has a say. If not, the player does not.
This is the issue dedicated to Church Councils, It is another one of the big, promised features of the mod that vis only partially implemented in 0.9.3.1.
