I cannot do anything since this papge is loaded dynamically.
There is probably a check in the page to tell to not load the content (some
sites do this to ensure to not reuse their content into external iframes...)
try replacer or readability.
but there i don't understand your need since feed is already filled with a full
content. why do you need to display web page (its same content as rss feed,
isn't it)?

It is possible that the msdn blogs stop themselves loading.
Just to be clear: for other feeds, when I click on an item summary, the page
expands to show the original full web page that the item refers to. For
example, if I'm looking at the BBC news feed and I want to know more about an
item, I click on it and the BBC web site appears in Reader with the story.
With msdn blog feeds, when I click on a Reader item, nothing appears. See
attached examples.

yes we speak about the same behaviour !
note: if you activated "preview all", you could add msdn website as exception
(feature is here to managed such case)

Thanks Ludovic. I assume by "preview all" you mean go to Integrated Preview
then under "Always actived, except following feeds:" add the feed's URL. I did
this and it didn't work when I put the RSS URL (eg
http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/rss.aspx) but after I put
"http://blogs.msdn.com", the text of the feed appears (including pictures) but
not the original page. This is an improvement!

Urls of feed items are sometimes changed from main feed url.
That's why first failed, second works !
You did exactly the right thing :)
