merge in network manager #778

After digging into this for a while, this is going to take much more work that I initially expected. This will have to be pushed back from 1.6.2 to a much later release so I have the time to rewrite a bunch of the methods.

Does this mean lumina will use NM for managing network? That means it will depend on NM? just curious
