I noticed that CPT code 99232 (inpatient psychiatric subsequent hospitalization) is categorized as “Adjunct” for encounter type. Are all inpatient codes classified as “adjunct”? #410
Adjunct is less reliable as a category for the team to be thinking about in dynamic terms because it's every type of adjunctive service that a team might offer. Adjunctive services will work to calculate a distribution for those services. Adjunctive services don't have a standard of care that we are trying to optimize on in terms of return to clinic, engagement duration, etc...
