Same problem here. Tried editing the plist manually, but that caused Siphon to
forget all its settings. Now I can't use it at all anymore. Please fix this,
it's a real blocker.

Same prob with 3g in iOS4. Did a apt-get purge siphone and reinstalled it, but
the settings page is still blank.

Siphon uses PreferencesLoader to display the settings.
Maybe this app has not been ported on iPhone 4 ?

iOS 4.0 and I am still getting blank page whenever I hit the settings page for
the Siphone.

Thanks.

New version works like a charm, but first needed to get Mobile Terminal to
work... which took me a bit of time on researching
(http://code.google.com/p/mobileterminal/issues/detail?id=172#c31). :) Thanks
for the new version. :)

For those who asked how to install the new version, you will need to either
first copy the deb file onto your phone using either WinSCP or something like
Filezilla providing you know your Shell password of course. You will then be
able to use the built in command function on WinSCP to install it, if you don't
know anything about 'dpkg' then google it, or do this: 'dpkg -i <the deb
filename>' substitute '<the deb filename>' with the deb filename (for people
who are not familiar with this syntax).

You should then have the newest version installed.

If your MobileTerminal is not broken, of course you can just copy the deb onto
your iDevice then use the above stated command on your MobileTerminal to save
some hassle.

Hope this helps :)

Hello I am sorry for those of y'all for whom my question seems dumb.
I have installed uprade 4.0 from itunes on my 3G Iphone.
Then I jalbroke my iphone with jailbreakme.com.
Then I installed Siphon.
Then I found on a french forum that in order for it to work, you had to copy
and paste this document (http://siphon.googlecode.com/files/Siphon-2.3rc4.deb)
onto this /private/var/mobile/Cydia/AutoInstall using ssh. Then you have to
restart the iphone and it should work.
I have tried it and it doesn't work, I still get a blank page in the settings.
Am I not doing it correctly ?Could someone please walk me through the process
in terms I could understand ( I am far from mastering code/console and so on...)

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards.

Louis

It work!!!
Just put Siphon-2.3rc4.deb to
/private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall
( Make sure your type exactly like above, especially the CAPPITAL Letter )
Reboot your device and it should work fine.

I thank all of those who have tried to help me.
In order to help those who still haven't figured it out I will tell you how I
did it.

1. download http://siphon.googlecode.com/files/Siphon-2.3rc4.deb
2. through SSH protocol create the folders
/private/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall,
one after the other.
3. Copy the .deb file into that folder.
4. Restart your Iphone
5. Voilà, you should be able to enter the siphon settings via the settings
button.

Thank you again.

Louis

PS : I still can't connect to my SIP through 3G nor Edge but that is another
issue...

Thanks all. I got it to work using following:
1) Used Iphonebrowser to create Cydia and Autoinstall directory in
/private/var/root/Media/
2) Dragged the Siphon-2.3rc4.deb to autoinstall folder.
3) Restarted the Iphone and could see the settings.
