It shouldn't be that hard to have a version of the mixamo rig which includes the rigify face bones. Mixamo tends to get confused when there are too many bones, but there is nothing in principle which would prevent snapping an extended rig with extra bones to a limited one downloaded from mixamo.
It can be an option to add for the mixamo rig generated (like we have toes/no toes variants). For the reduced proxy for export, it can be removed with the clothes, etc. Applying downloaded animations works even with a face attached - the bones to be animated get animated, the rest gets ignored.
I don't have FaceIt (it is a paid addon), but I believe it is compatible with the rigify face, so this would make that rig compatible with facial mocap etc as well (like Rigify) - I think, but don't quote me on it - I have no way to test.

The page shows now, but I'm not sure how to use this with MPFB2 - can we add custom skeletons?
The developer panel has buttons for creating and loading custom skeletons. But this is not particularly user-friendly, it's mostly something that is used by developers.
But the started skeleton from the forum will be useful once I get time to finalize an extended mixamo rig.
I was able to load the rig linked above in developer mode, but I can't get it to work with the mesh. Apparently I'm missing something because there is no skinning between the skeleton and the mesh. Having an extended mixamo rig is a great option.
Moving to next milestone to get beta 1 through the door.
See this video for how it can be done. I tried it myself and it works well, but it doesn't play well with MPFB anymore. If we can generate this, i think everybody will choose it.
