I've got a Koonovo Elf (Same as Creativity Elf), with no modifications. I want to upgrade all stepper drivers to TMC2208 in UART mode, as well as add a bltouch. I've found a document here: https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/gthxb6/mks_robin_nano_v12_diagram_for_5x_tmc2209_v30/ It states the Z end stops need to be unplugged for bltouch to work. Does anyone know if this is a hardware, or software limitation? Is there a way to keep the Z stops? I'm not confident using sensorless homing.

No, you cannot get around that.
