Currently it's not documented how new images are created and made available for existing installs. We should document that. Where?

For temporary documentation you folks could just add one or more FAQs, e. g. one FAQ for users, one for developers. Once it is clear where each document goes, the FAQ can be updated.

A FAQ is also helpful for people to find things or learn new things, so that would be useful in general.
