MapBook reports and coded domains problem

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a map book series with any geodatabase feature class with 
domains in it.

2. select a text element and tag it with one of the fields which has a 
domain look-up.

3. on the layout the codes are displayed - but I need the descriptions to 
be displayed. 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the descriptions.
I see the codes instead.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
9.2. Windows XP

Please provide any additional information below.
I know this may not have been implemented but it would be very useful if 
it could be!
I hope someone can help. I'm getting desparate!

I've replicated the problem but don't how to fix it yet.

Just to clarify for anyone else trying to replicate: it is the series Index 
layer
which needs to be using domain lookups.

Sorry I don't know if/when it will get fixed. I lack the skills/understanding
personally and a more knowledgeable person has not volunteered to look into it 
as yet.
